the power of change

sansaar means “cycle of life” in Hindi and stands for transformation — just like in the creative process of pottery.

Our handcrafted ceramics are intentionally imperfect and unique.
But sansaar is more than a ceramics label. Through our collaboration with the Swami Sivananda Memorial Institute (SSMI) in Delhi, we empower women from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing training in pottery.

What emerges from our work is not only beautiful objects, but also new perspectives, independence, and opportunities.

our process

Each sansaar piece is handmade—a process that requires time, patience, and attention. The clay is first prepared and shaped, then carefully trimmed and left to dry, allowing it to slowly gain strength. This is followed by the first firing, glazing, and a second firing, before each piece is finished by hand.

Each step has its own rhythm and demands care. Small irregularities are not flaws, but traces of the creative process and the hands that shaped the piece.

At sansaar, objects are created in small batches—with respect for material, time, and people. This is how simple clay becomes a unique object, carrying its own story.

women empowerment

Our vision is simple: to create handcrafted everyday objects—and give women the tools to shape their own future.

Through skill training, women gain not only vocational skills, but also the opportunity to earn their own income and build new perspectives beyond dependence. In this way, the cycle of poverty, violence, and inequality can be broken.

Each sansaar piece tells the story of the woman who crafted it—with care and dignity.
